PretePop #PlasticfreeJuly Digital Fair - July 30th - August 2nd 2020

Hello NEW WOOOORRRLLDD! Let’s be real. Everything has gone digital and technology is amazing.

So naturally we were dancing with glee when PretePop, an online events platform engaged us be part of their virtual pop-up digital fair in conjunction with #PlasticfreeJuly.

Along with other sustainable brands being showcased in the marketplace, PretePop’s aim was to encourage shoppers to adopt a plastic free lifestyle beyond July.

With live broadcasting of the founders to answer any questions shoppers had, this helped to bring faces forward behind the brands, to iterate their passion for their businesses. We thought it was brilliant!

We hope to be involved in more online events that bring eco businesses and products to the forefront, so we can make a better world as a community. And digital connectivity so far has played a big part.

Less than 1 percent of single use plastic bags are recycled. They are most often made from Polyethylene that takes centuries to degrade.

This year 5 trillion plastic bags will be consumed. That is 160,000 plastic bags produced every second.

It takes up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to break down. On average, a plastic shopping bag is used for just 12 minutes.
