Garden Beats Festival 2019 - Peco Bag Soft Launch

“The KOOKS. Masego. Alina Baraz. Black Coffee and Peco Bag? That’s just a whole mix of awesome! What a better way to welcome myself into the world than debut my brand’s launch at a picnic and music festival, attracting the groovers and the eco conscious. Garden Beats Festival was back at Fort Canning in Singapore for it’s 5th year, and this one was bigger and better. This year they stepped up their previous initiatives to become the first carbon-neutral music festival in Singapore by completely banning single use plastics and opting for biodegradable cups and cutlery. Think discounts if you bring your own cup, panel talks on zero waste living and sustainable fashion as well as a wellness oasis for mind, body and spirit. Oh and a eco market area where I looked awesome. Hello world! I’m here to encourage a change in your habits to help change your world.” - Peco

Less than 1 percent of single use plastic bags are recycled. They are most often made from Polyethylene that takes centuries to degrade.

This year 5 trillion plastic bags will be consumed. That is 160,000 plastic bags produced every second.

It takes up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to break down. On average, a plastic shopping bag is used for just 12 minutes.
